Psychology

Research has shown Psychotherapy to be effective in alleviating a variety of physical and emotional conditions. These include back pain, IBS, depression, anxiety, eating disorders, relationship and sexual difficulties, bereavement, sexual abuse, etc.
Psychotherapy is also an effective means of self-development; a way of developing personal potential where there may not be any overt symptoms of distress.

Rosalind Field MSc UKCP
Rosalind Field did a four-year Psychotherapy training at The Minster Centre in London and has had a private practice in Brighton since 1987. Rosalind also has an MSc in social work and has had many years experience working with children and families in Family Therapy and Family Mediation. She also taught on the MSc course in counselling Psychology at The University of Sussex.  Rosalind is also a qualified and experienced Psychotherapy Supervisor.

As an Integrative psychotherapist Rosalind works holistically (attending to the whole person), recognising the emotional, physical, social and spiritual experience of each client. By integrating concepts and models from humanistic, systemic and psychodynamic psychotherapy she works according to the needs of each individual.  Sessions are 50 minutes in length and can be arranged on a short term focused basis (ten sessions) or longer term open ended (typically 1- 4 years).

As part of her commitment to family work, Rosalind also works with parents and infants where there are issues of maternal depression or difficulties in the attachment relationship between the parent and infant. She offers consultations to parents who have anxieties or concerns about their children or about their own parenting skills. After an initial assessment Rosalind works with the parent on their own or with the parent and infant/young child where appropriate.
