Intermediate Pilates Class
If you currently have (or recently had) back or neck pain, and wish to progress your existing Pilates experience, this class is ideal
Intermediate Pilates class (previous Pilates experience necessary)
This class introduces more complex movements to challenge your core stability and balance for further health improvements.
All exercises are based on the APPI (Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute) method.
Wednesdays from 18:15 - 19:15

Cathy trained as a physiotherapist in Sydney, Australia and now has 20 years’ experience in the profession. In addition to running pilates courses at Dyke Road Studio, she also runs her physiotherapy practice. Click here (link missing) for more information
The class package includes an initial 30-minute consultation with physiotherapist Catherine Kwan. She’ll assess your condition to ensure the classes will benefit you, and determine the areas on which you need to focus. She’ll also introduce you to the key elements of the classes.
The exercises are specifically designed to help you:
- Strengthen and tone the supporting muscles in your lower back, neck and trunk and reduce pain
- Improve your body alignment and posture
- Improve your balance and co-ordination
- Improve your confidence in your movement
All exercises are based on the APPI (Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute) method. It's a form of exercise clinically proven effective for back and neck pain and widely taught in the UK.
